Kathmandu: The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has presented a letter of Felicitation to ailing senior neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota, wishing for his speedy recovery.

Chief of Health and Population Department of the then CPN (UML) and lawmaker, Sujita Shakya, on the behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, her own, and Chairperson of National Medical Association, Dr Santosh Poudel, presented the letter of felicitation to Dr Devkota at Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital, and wished his speedy recovery.

Lawmaker Shakya said that they offered the letter to Dr Devkota for his remarkable contributions in making medical service accessible for the people.

On the occasion, Dr Devkota urged her to create environment where children belonging to poor families could afford for medical education and to build equipped hospital in all seven provinces to produce specialist doctors. Dr Devkota is suffering from gallbladder cancer and now undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital.
